How we order providers
The same rules apply to every provider, whether or not they pay for anything.
The order on listing pages
- Providers with a higher provider score come first.
- When scores are equal, the provider with the higher average rating comes first, then the one with more published reviews.
- Then providers are listed alphabetically.
The provider score
Every provider has a score out of 100, shown on their profile with its breakdown.
- Reviews, up to 50 points: the average rating, counting fully once a provider has 10 published reviews.
- Company profile, up to 20 points: how much of the profile is filled in.
- Vendor certifications, up to 30 points: 10 for each one Xedir has checked, 3 for one waiting for a check, and 1 for one the provider has only stated. Expired ones don't count. A partnership we found in the vendor's own partner directory, by matching the provider's listing to their company name or website, counts as checked.
The score is separate from the star rating. Certifications raise the score, never the stars.
What never changes the order
Paying for marketing services, the Xedir Verified check or anything else never changes a rating, a score or the order reviews appear in. Featured placement, when we offer it, is shown separately and always labelled.
Where the ratings come from
Ratings come only from published reviews. Every review is checked before it goes live. How reviews work
